Postcard Designs

These are postcard designs. I've decided it might be a more useful promotion to give people something free they can pick up and take home with them in order to be inspired to go to the website. I want to drop these in postcard stands and shop fronts and cafes etc. So I'll need hundreds, thus I need to make them fast, cheap and easy. I'm thinking photocopier or good ol' Kylie on some cheap paper - maybe something raw like craft card. I like the idea of the photocopier - that DIY type aesthetic. I'll make heaps and use a gilloteen or something to chop em up and then walk round and drop them off.
The top left is the front of the card and the other five are possible backs. I probably won't use all of them but I like the idea of having a few different backs.

Refined Again

Well refined the poster a little. Prob can't notice too much about it that's different. Anyway everyone I've asked so far doesn't like it for some reason or another... maybe I should make a decision myself for once!
Basically I want it to catch the eye, and show things like stencilling, unisex t-shirts, and show an attitude.

Refined Poster

The refined version of the poster. Still not sure about it. I don't know. Let me know what you think.

Temporary Posters

Put some temporary posters up to see what happens mostly. I don't think that much will happen judging from the number of posters they are competing with and the fact that uni students are so used to A3 posters no one looks at them - also you can see from the photos they don't stand out so well - Some not at all! BUT this has been a valuable learning excercise - For the Real poster - I think i'll stick with black background cos it stands out against the white posters. Colour will stand out - especially pink I think. A bigger format makes a bigger impact - especially in this environment where everyone has access to making A3 posters.
As other promo methods i think I'll use the poster design to create small postcards, probably with a photocopier and then just drop them into cool shops eg. bookshops, cool clothes shops, brunswick street etc. Does anyone know if you have to ask the owners etc to do this kind of thing?
I'll also be sending out a little linked poster email ad to everyone I know. Remember: Spam is only evil if it's not from BlackHotPink!

Going International!

It may be a little early for my little brand but I've decided to expand to an international level - why restrict the rest of the world from the wonders of BlackHotPink??
- New site is up and international customers can now buy shirts with USD... which reminds me I need to fix the contact page cos it wont make sense anymore..

More Poster Ideas

New Poster ideas. Basically the first uses little pieces of my designs or the same style as my t-shirt designs coming out from the shirts to make an eye-catching compostion - but is far from finished. The second is a simpler image but I think it's a strong one. The bricks and blank t-shirts as well as the attitudes the people seem to display show the personality of my brand well I think .... Both probably need more detail to tell viewers that it's a t-shirt brand etc... But I would love to hear any thoughts as I really want to make the poster a good one and get it out soon!
